The State Government Act (12/9/2020)
Proposed by Representative Lynden Baines Johnson representing Austin, Texas (TX-3) and amended by Representative Noshintosh representing Las Vegas, California (CA-3)
Every week, a state's citizens will vote for their state's Governor. The Governor can hold any other position in government and they do not have to give up any other position to be Governor. Every state will now have a State Legislature, which is composed of every citizen of the state that has been in the state for more than 7 days. They also can hold other positions in the Federal Government, just like the Governor. The Governor will be a leader for the state and will do minor things to manage the state. In case of a tie in that state during a presidential election in the vote count, the governor will break the tie.
A governor's term will last 2 weeks, with elections happening during midterms. This is to prevent an outgoing governor deciding a presidential election tie against the will of the people. This bill is null if the State Government Act does not pass.
