The Anti-Dictatorship Amendment (4/29/2021)
Proposed by Congressman @Ruben | GL of the Great Lakes, with the endorsement of SayerQT and Landon. It's worth noting that this is a Constitutional amendment
Every state must abide by these basic rules:
- - All citizens of a state shall have the right to vote in every election.
- - The governor must be elected by the people every 4 years.
- - There shall be no laws creating rules on who can and cannot immigrate to a state without Congressional approval.
- - Similarly, a state must have Congressional approval in order to close immigration for more than two days at a time without three day intervals of immigration being open.
- - Elections must be fair and no process should be enforced or passed prohibiting the right of the people to influence their state. Electoral votes shall be distributed in a fair and democratic way.
- - All decisions not expressly delegated to the governor shall be made by the state legislature.
- - If a governor signs an executive order, it may take effect immediately, but it shall be voted on in the state legislature for permanent approval.
- - No executive order shall prohibit any rights of the legislative body.
- - Votes in state legislatures must last at least 12 hours.
Legislature, executive order, etc mean the equivalents of those things within any given state.
This amendment has the line: "No process shall be enforced or passed prohibiting or inhibiting the right of the people to influence their state," which is a slight modification of clause 5 here.
